My consent for for CAIRS keratoconus surgery
I am often asked by surgeons across the globe for assistance in planning their first CAIRS procedure for keratoconus. It is a privilege to help colleagues undertake their first procedures and to guide them through some of the steps including the planning. I'm often asked if I can provide a copy of my consent form for the procedure. I have attached a consent form for keratoconus here, freely available for surgeons to download and adjust for themselves.
CAIRS (not CARES!) for keratoconus has been such an amazing advancement and the first new procedure or even new treatment for keratoconus in over 15 years. The outcomes for patients have been fantastic and so I am very happy to be able to teach and assist surgeons in adopting this new procedure.
Please feel free to download the consent form below and use it for your own CAIRS (Corneal Allogenic Intrastromal Ring Segments) procedures.
Are you looking for instructions on how to do CAIRS surgery for post LASIK ectasia, pellucid marginal degeneration of keratoconus. I have instructions for using the Alcon femtosecond laser here.
